Director of Operations

Mark Pottruff
Mark makes sure everything at Gentec runs smoothly and seamlessly, from transport and warehousing to our customer service desk. Joining the company in 2017 as Director of Operations, he leads a 45-strong team of staff. Whether it’s making the warehouse work more efficiently or dealing with supply chain issues, Mark looks to optimize every part of the business so that our partners and their customers get the best service possible.

Mark had a sweet start to his career: his first job was testing Betty Crocker cakes and cereal at General Mills. He then held a number of management positions in logistics and operations at Virgin Mobile, Broan-NuTone Canada, Newell Rubbermaid, Stanley Black and Decker. What Mark loves about operations is being able to work with and learn from people at various levels and functions across the company. At Gentec, he takes extra care to ensure that everyone knows the value of their work, from warehouse employees up to the CEO.

A keen hiker, Mark volunteers his time with the Toronto Bruce Trail Club which is working to expand Canada’s famous footpath. He earned his degree in Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo, and is also a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (CMILT).
